<description>Nice of you to visit my blog. I was wondering if you were ever going to show up.
About slow eating: Buddha used to tell his disciples to eat slowly. To be mindful of every bite, every swallow; to give their undivided attention to the process of eating, without any hindrance.
In our daily life, we have become so accustomed to sitting in front of TV and eating that we give more importance to the TV serials than our food. And therein lies the seed of all our gastronomic troubles, IMHO.
I have been trying to not watch the TV while eating and to eat slowly for the last few months, but old habits die hard. Thank you for the intro to Zen Habits.

<description>Ok, Monica... you just might have changed my life forever with this article. Well written, and it hits VERY close to home. I've often been accused of being the 'slow eater' of the bunch, at book club, with the family, and just out with friends. BUT, I've observed YOU eating... VERY slowly, and with deep enjoyment. You truly enjoy your food (when it's good food). I plan to stop eating things I'm not really enjoying.. and to slow down further. I also have a bit of guilt over eating... must work on that next. GREAT write. You really have a gift.
