when i got off the phone with my sister at around 11:30pm last night, she was off to do homework, i was off to bed. sometimes i really miss being a student. the late hours, the missed sleep, the frantic homework sessions! sometimes, the ethereal haze of unrested wakefulness is kind of fun.
but last night i slept.
So i got up at 7am this morning and went for a light 1.5 mile jog along town lake, to the Longhorn Dam and back. Runners call this a “recovery run”, an exercise intended to improve circulation, muscle capillarization, and recovery from harder runs. This morning, I was more interested in having a good stretch by the lakeside - how Zen!
Someone once told me that time is a predator that stalked us all our lives. But I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey that reminds us to cherish every moment because they’ll never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we live it. After all, Number One, we’re only mortal.
