last tuesday, an amazing thing occurred in austin, texas: icicles!
this is very exciting, as texas is not often privy to the joys of a typical winter. but even more exciting was the closing of UT due to the “treacherous” weather. but even more exciting than that was the afternoon walk that i wouldn’t have otherwise taken because i’d have been in class learning about b-splines. aside from the slippery sidewalks, the crux of the walk’s excitement lay at the top of an ice laden hill, which i almost passed up due to the effort involved. however, it was at the top of that hill that i discovered what would become my future abode. the place is glorious, and pictures will follow shortly. yes, it’s the dawning of a new era for this booshetta. i hope this means that something good is on the horizon.
no, it’s not time for the airing of grievances. it’s time to pass around the prop platter. today the props go to tim for all of his care, support, and assistance during this transitional period. for this i am eternally greatful.
Water-logged and sepulchral weather looms over the eyes of Texas this afternoon. The temperature reads a murky 49 degrees. Humidity: 89%. The Barometer: 30.019 (steady). I’ve spent the greater part of the morning trodding through water to turn in a lease application for a dive on Tom Green’s boosh. Days like today make me realize how miserable I might be if I lived over a mile away from school (and 3205… and JP’s… and the crown). Never underestimate the power of a comfort zone.
props need to be given at this time:
rafi gets mad monkey props for deluxe scrabble
dave gets hula props for driving me around this morning
ivy gets kitty props for his spooning services
it is also worth mentioning that noah, the c&a bouncer, recieved props last night, but they have since been revoked. sorry, noah. you blew it.
And the beat goes on…

this past weekend I saw the Vagina Monologues. though I wouldn’t have gone if three of my friends weren’t performing, i was pleasantly surprised by the production. Written by eve ensler, the vm was first produced in 1996 and has received rave reviews ever since. naturally, this heartless cynic who detests anything that sounds overly “feminist” has avoided the experience. this weekend, i was impressed that the vm declared “i love vaginas” rather than “i hate men”.

monica is currently looking for an apartment. if you have any information regarding a pimp-stylee, cat-friendly, boosh-happy, non-grody, party palace apartment/duplex/house in the hyde park area (preferably with a washer-dryer — and under $700/mo.), please pass it on.

People with boring lives should be discouraged from broadcasting the mundane details of their trivial existences on the interweb.
Luckily you have me.
I had my dermal lightening bolt repaired last sunday. Atomic Tattoo was a very friendly and clean family tattoo parlor. It was here that a mysterious maiden appeared with several dozen limes which she left on the floor as she quickly departed. Each was decorated with slurs of varying creativity. One said “you suck”, another made mention to someone’s single testicle. Apparently one of the employees gave someone a bad time.
Naturally, celebration was held at the crown. Here I drank many pitchers of beer and took even more photos. Rafi let me wear his downy soft performance fleece. 3 popcorn remnants were found in the left pocket.
Installed TeXShop on OS X this afternoon. It’s the first decent TeX editor of seen for the Mac. Productivity at last.
